At Edington Logistics, all vehicles are under regular, round the clock satellite observation which decreases the risks involved with theft and hijacking. Our vehicles are regularly cleaned to ensure a highly professional image and total health and safety of our drivers.
All vehicles have tracking devises so we can locate and tell you exactly where yoyr deliverables are. On order, we will collect for delivery the next day by 5pm from anywhere in the UK. Careful management and profit channelizing, without compromising on customer service and quality, is the key to our success.
Eco-friendly Fleet
Edington Logistics recognizes the need for collective and active participation to save the environment. To achieve this, we have a modern fleet of vehicles which are commissioned on 3 and 5 year contracts. This option allows us to be consistently at the forefront of vehicle technology. Fleet mechanical standards are kept high by maintenance through regular service breaks.
To compliment our existing fleet of vehicles which are already emission rated Euro 3 and Euro 4 (and many coupled to Auto gearboxes, which allows the vehicle to operate at maximum efficiency), new vehicles arriving in 2011 and 2012 are equipped with Euro 5 technology.
This replacement program, together with a comprehensive main dealer operated maintenance system, enables the vehicles to be some of the cleanest and safest on the road today, giving out fewer pollutants unlike many cars and vans.
Helping the environment does not stop at equipping a fleet with latest motorized vehicles, creating driver awareness, and/or routing of vehicles to get the maximum amount of deliveries, within minimum time and lesser miles traveled. Training and upgrading our drivers in advanced vehicle technology have allowed us to reduce our carbon emissions.
Edington Logistics has over the last three years incorporated a vehicle replacement program wherein, we have made an effort to equip ourselves with vehicles with modern tyre-technology to give us a better coefficient of drag and less rolling resistance, which in turn would allow achieving a greater tyre-life and better fuel returns, meaning, we use less of the earth’s resources.
Edington Logistics continues to look at different ways to be commercially successful and ecologically helpful. Currently, our efforts are directed towards use of Bio fuels and other eco-friendly methods in the near future.
